Classes: Adolescent Psychology, Statistics, and some General Education courses, slowly moving into major Psychology courses
  • Unlike me, this student is taking courses for psychology, while mine are mainly math. Also, as we progress in our education, our classes will become more and more unalike because our majors are so different. While I'm solving math problems, she'll be studying people and their behaviors. Right now, however, we still have some general education classes in common.

Typical Day: Classes, homework, eat, gym, Helping Others, watch tv
  • I noticed, even though our majors are so different, our days are rather similar. We both go to class, hang out with people, eat, watch tv, do homework, and study. Some aspects of our lives right now are similar because we are both students at the same school, and because we are both sophomores.

Home life/Background: Lives with grandmother, mother, older brother, in Chester County. Went to catholic school, different school for elementary, high school, and then to vo-tech school.
  • When I asked this student about her home life and background, I noticed this is where we are very different. Unlike her, I live with my parents, and one older brother, and one younger brother. I never went to catholic school, or a vo-tech school. She also graduated with 190 students, and I only graduated with 120 students. We had very different school experiences and home life experiences, which is why are interests are different, or our hobbies are different.

Interview #2
Classes: Labor History in the US, Teaching Social Studies, Contemporary Moral Problems - mostly 400 level
  • I see a big difference in the types of classes this student takes compared to myself. His classes are 400 level classes, which is an extreme workload compared to my own. Also they are mainly history courses because he is a History Ed. major. This student is also a senior, so this is his last semester of actual classwork, which means he is cramming every last thing he needs in right now, because next semester is student teaching for him.
Typical Day: Class, homework, watch soap operas, history club (when meetings occur), socializing
  • We have in common how we go to class and do homework, but I am not a member of the history club, and I do not watch soap operas.
Home life/Background: Lived with parents, 2 brothers, one sister, and nephew. Large age difference between siblings. Catholic school for kindergarten, middle school, and high school (graduated between 700 and 800 students).
  • When looking at his background, I find a lot of differences. I never had a sister, and the age difference between my difference is only a couple years. His age difference was more like 18 years. My school was extremely small compared to his as well, and I never attended a catholic school.


Conclusions
After interviewing both students, I notice how some things are the same. We are all three students, attend class, do homework, and socialize during the day. We are very different as well. Both of my interviewees attended larger schools than I did, and they both had some school time at a catholic school and I never did. I actually believe the two people I interviewed had more in common than I did with them. By doing these interviews I can see how someone's background will alter how they may go through their day, what their major is, even who they may be friends with.
